CORN SOUP $5.10

chicken broth 1.22
1 chopped onion .70
4 chopped celery stalks .74
1 chopped green bell pepper .60
on hand at home: 1/2 cup milk/heavy cream, 1/2 tsp thyme, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp cayenne, s/p to taste
- wash and chop the vegetables and throw into the crockpot with the broth and corn. stir in seasoning and cook on low for 8 hours. when done cooking stir in the milk and add in flour to thicken if needed. serve with crackers, bread or croutons

on hand at home: 1/4 tsp sage, 1/4 tsp rosemary, 1/4 tsp thyme, s/p to taste
-place the brussel sprouts on a baking sheet. peel and chop the potato and onion and add next. cut the carrots and add on top. drizzle with olive oil and the seasoning. bake in the oven at 425 for 30 minutes or until the veggies are toasted and not hard. cook the bacon in the microwave according to the package and chop. add on top of the meal and enjoy.

-cook the ground beef on the skillet and add into the crockpot. mix in the tomato sauce and drained vegetables. cook on low for 4 hours. cook the potatoes according to the package and place on top of the food in the crockpot. top with cheese and enjoy. optional: place the crockpot dish in the oven at 250 for 10 minutes to cook the dish altogether.

on hand at home: s/p to taste, 1/4 tsp paprika, 1/4 tsp cayenne, 2 tbsp minced garlic or powder, 1/2 tsp oregano
-add the chopped onion, carrots and celery into the crockpot. pour in the lentils, tomato paste and broth next. stir the ingredients together. add in a few cups of water if needed to cover everything. stir in seasoning. cook on low 8 hours and enjoy with saltines bread or croutons.

PUMPKIN FRENCH TOAST $4.98

on hand at home: 2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp ginger, nonstick spray or butter, maple syrup
-in a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, pumpkin, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. spray a nonstick span with cooking spray or butter and heat on the skillet on medium heat. place the bread on the mixture and turn over to get the other side. cook on the skillet until the egg is cooked and flip over. continue for the rest of the bread pieces and top with maple syrup.
