今日は、仲良しのお友達ご夫婦とブランチをしました。お友達のご提案だった、Wellies というカフェでのブランチ。車で２０分くらいのところでした。

We had a brunch with our good friends.  They suggested to go to "Wellies", a littel cafe about 20 minutes from us.

「バブル＆スクイーク」に目玉焼きとベーコンを添えたものにしました。「バブル＆スクイーク」というのはイギリスでよく食べられるローストの付け合わせに使われるポテトやキャベツなどが余った時に混ぜて焼いたもの、のはず。実はよく耳にするものの作ったことも食べたこともなかったので選んだのですが、ここのは焼いていませんでした。なので、ポテトを潰したものにお野菜が入っていただけ。外側がカリッと焼かれていればもっと美味しかったと思うのです、残念。

I ordered Bubble & Squeek with fried egg and bacom.  Although I know what Bubble & Squeek is this was the first time I ever had it as I've never cooked it at  home either.  I think it's supposed to be fried in a frying pan, but it wasn't, which is a shame because I would have enjoyed it more.

まぁ、でも、普通にいただけるものでしたし、カフェの方は感じ良かったですし、お友達とゆっくりおしゃべりしてキャッチアップが出来て良かったです。お忙しくてなかなかスケジュールが合わないので、次回会えるのは当分先になりそうです。

Still, it wasn't unpleasant or anything, the staff was very nice and we were able to spend more than 2 hours to chat so it was lovely.  They are very busy with various things so it won't be a while when we can see them next.

ちなみに、パティオで食べたのですが、結構風が強く、薄手のニットのワンピースにデニムジャケットを着ていても結構寒かったです。

We had it in the patio but it was breezy so felt a little cold even though I had a thin knit dress (but no sleeve) with a denim jacket on top.
