Bulggot Ojingeo

The most perfect pour that I've ever experienced.

Bulggot Ojingeo is a Korean dish.  It's a whole squid, scored, seasoned, breaded, deep-fried.  The name of the dish - "bulggot = fireworks" - refers (presumably) to the dramatic splash and splatter when the squid is dropped into the frying oil.  A new-fangled variation on the classic anju: ojingeo-ddangkong (squid-peanut).

I encountered the dish for the first and only time at this establishment, unknown if it's available elsewhere.

It was excellent.  Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.  An ideal accompaniment for cold draft beer.
