Sometimes a meal calls for an appetizer. Or, like we do at our house, need an idea for your next Appetizer Night! These Simple Cheese Straws are the perfect addition to any appetizer menu. They are light and flaky while still being cheesy. And the best part - they take only a few minutes to make and few more minutes to bake! That makes them great along side a dinner when you want something more than just garlic bread.

I used the freezer style puff pastry that comes with two sheets per box. You could also use the refrigerator style - or be really adventurous and make your own. You could also change it up with different cheeses and/or seasoning. Just want to make sure that the cheese is finely shredded so that it melts into the puff pastry without burning.

These would be great with a soup and salad night. You could also serve them with a pasta and sauce dish. Or as I mentioned, add it to an all appetizer night menu. This was actually part of my family's last appetizer night. We had buffalo chicken wonton cups, sausage & ricotta crostinis, pizza crescents, and jalapeno popper roll-ups. It was a lot of fun.
