Opening Scripture: Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!" John 14:6-7 NLT
Life offers several avenues of pleasure and self sufficiency, in all these attempts we may feel welcomed and venture deeper to only find little satisfaction and end with a list of demands that cannot be fulfilled. From our opening scripture we see Jesus letting us and those around Him at the time that He is only way and that through Him alone do we receive life in full. However, as we willingly accept Christ into our hearts, our old sinful nature may try to eat away at us or lure us back to the lifestyle we once had. It is in these times when we must hold steadfast to the Word of God and lean solely on the Lord to enable us to turn away and continue holding onto the truth.
The kingdom of the Lord is always open to those who allow Christ into their hearts and choose to forsake their evil ways by doing so we learn to understand what life in Christ truly has to offer and can build a relationship to our Heavenly Father.
