今日は、久しぶりにお目にかかるお友達ご夫婦とランチをご一緒しました。お孫さんがいらっしゃるお友達は夏休みの時期やクリスマスの時期はとてもお忙しくてなかなかお目にかかれず、前回はチューリップの季節にチューリップを見にいったので５ヶ月ぶりくらいでした。こうして、１年があっという間に過ぎてしまいます。
We had lunch with our friends that we hadn't seen for a while today. Our friends, who have grand children, are very busy during the summer holidays and around Christmas, we hadn't seen them for about 5 months as the last time we got together was in April to see tulips. A whole year goes like this.
場所は、ルイス近くにある「Juggs」というパブ。寒くなって来ましたが、お花はまだまだ綺麗。
We went to a pub "Juggs" near Lewes. Although it now feels a little chilly, flowers are still looking lovely.
夫だけ、前菜もとりました、「ミニ・ブラータ」。確かにブラータはミニですが、全体的には結構な量でした。
My husband was the only one who had a starter. Mini Burrata. Although Burrata is mini, the whole dish was quite a large portion.
夫のメインは、ビーフパイ。この間も食べたのに（笑）。すごく美味しかったそうです。
He had Beef Pie for the main - we had a beef pie only a few days ago... He said it was really good.
わたしは、チキンの胸肉のグリル、チミチュリソース、ハッセルバックポテト、インゲンのサラダ。チュミチュリソースが美味しかったですが、もう少し欲しかったです。
I had Grilled Chicken Breast with chumichuri sauce, Hasselback potatoes, green bean salad. The chumichuri sauce was quite nice but I wish they gave me a little more, not quite enough for the size of the chicken breast.
わたしのメインの量が少なめだったので、今日はデザートも１つずつ。２人ともスティッキー・トフィー・プディングにしましたが、すごく甘かった。。。そして、マダガスカルバニラのカスタードソースと書かれていましたがバニラビーンズは見当たらず、ただ甘いだけの液体でした、多分インスタント。
The portion of my main was on a small side so we had a dessert each, we both had Sticky Toffee Puddhing. Very very sweet... The menu said "Madagascal Vanilla Custard" but I couldn't see any beans and couldn't taste any vanilla, it was just very sweet yellowy liquid, I don't think it was real custard.
最近３人目のお孫さんが出来たのでその話しや、旅行の話しなど色々とキャッチアップをして、次回は紅葉を見にいこうというお約束をしてお別れしました。
They had their 3rd grand child recently so we talked about the baby as well as travels etc and we said we would go and see the autumn leaves again in October together.
