Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel is the tallest Ferris wheel in Tokyo, Japan found in Kasai Rinkai Koen in Edogawa. It is called, Daiya to hana no daikanransha (ダイヤと花の大観覧車) in Japanese, and has a height of 117 meters.
Diamond and Flower Ferris Wheel got it name from its lights at night which are like diamonds and flowers.
It used to be the tallest Ferris wheel in Japan when it opened in 2001 but was surpassed by the Osaka Wheel. It has 68 gondolas that can occupy 6 persons each.
One ride costs ¥800 per person (over 3 years old) and ¥400 for over 70 years old. The riding time is 17 minutes. The address is Tokyo, Edogawa-ku, Rinkai-cho 6-3. You can go here by JR Keiyo train line and get off at Kasai Rinkai Koen station.
While inside the gondola, there is a voiceover that tells information about the surroundings that you see from above.
The ventilation inside the gondola is good and during cold weather, the heater is turned on.
Views from the Tallest Ferris Wheel in Tokyo
Disneyland and Disneysea are only one station away so it is clearly visible from above.
The Tokyo Sky Tree is also visible. It looks more amazing at night.
You'll be able to see the full aerial view of the Kasai Rinkai Koen.
The view will be much better on a sunny day. Today's weather is cloudy so we were not able to see Mt. Fuji.
This is the view of the tallest Ferris wheel in Tokyo from Kasai Rinkai Koen station.
This is just beside the Ferris Wheel. It is one of Tokyo Olympics 2020's venue.
I recommend riding it twice, one in the morning and one in the evening because the lights you can see around at night are beautiful like Tokyo Sky Tree and Disneyland. Also, it will be more fun if you'll bring a telescope.
