What was formerly the space of Paintbox Bistro is now the home of Café Zuzu, an Italian cafe and restaurant under the same family of Gusto. Café Zuzu plays homage to retro Italy where half the space is a cafe during the day, and the other half opens up in the evening for more larger format bites.
For the grand opening, they offered free coffee for the first 555 customers. My husband ended up logging into work early, went for the free coffee plus other goodies, then returned home to work.
Cornetti - frutti and cioccolato
For the cornetti, I personally would skip it because Le Beau is close by; for relatively the same price, I can get a wider variety of pastries and slightly larger too. If I recall, the cornetti were about $5-$6 each.
On a separate visit, we went for breakfast; I grabbed a cup of coffee plus some pastries. My husband got a breakfast sandwich.
The bombolone is really good and something I'd get again.
Biscotti - dark chocolate hazelnut
Pizza Siciliana - pepperoni
When the restaurant portion opened, we decided to try it because by this point, the place essentially became our neighbourhood joint whenever we don't feel like cooking dinner haha.
Nitro Espresso Martini ($15) - Vodkow vodka, coffee liqueur nitrogen
