I got this as a Christmas present 2 years ago. It's one of my favorite items. One of the things I learned during clerkship, internship and residency is that a good pen is an essential tool for a doctor. With all the chart entries we need to do, a good pen spells the difference between a perfectly legible handwriting or an indecipherable cipher.
Anyway, this pen was given to me by another doctor I work with. She gave us all pens and we all love it. I really the pen because 1. It's Pilot; and 2. It's refillable. I remember that the classy, expensive refillable retractable pen market was dominated by Parker. I think I was in med school when all the people in the Philippines seemed to be going gaga over Parker. The free engraving also helped boost its sales. But I was never a fan of the thick tip of the pen. I prefer my pens to be fine. It helps my handwriting seem smaller and neater.
But back to the topic at hand, Pilot is well known for their clear pens with fine tips. And these two are ever so present in this pen. That's why I always use this pen. Two year's later and I still have it. I only just used the refill that came with the pen. So it's like I use one refill per year. But then again, I don't really write much anymore. So it's no surprise that one refill was able to last a whole year. Speaking of refills, I need to buy one. Hopefully, the nearest National Bookstore will have some in stock.
