Songhwa Sansi Dosak Myeon (송화산시도삭면) is a Chinese restaurant. Specializes in their eponymous knife-cut noodles (dosak myeon), as well as dimsum.

Located 384 meters from Konkuk University Station (Line 2), Exit 6.

Dimsum are actually steamed in the kitchen - these, just for show.

Packed - same with the secondary location, a few blocks over.

MtG and I roamed around until we came across Songhwa Sansi Dosak Myeon, which neither of us had heard of, but it looked promising.

Reasonable prices (see for comparison 14.047 Dimsum Hahaha).

Good choice. The dumplings were well-constructed, nicely seasoned, solid all around. The "signature" Shrimp Asparagus was sort of a hybrid shaomai/hargao/wonton - not the best of the spread, but the most interesting visually. Wouldn't have minded staying longer, exploring more of the menu, but we moved on after a few rounds.

Xiaolongbao (3.0): so soupy, they come in cups.

Whereas Korea's only official Chinatown doesn't serve actual Chinese food (see generally 12.104 Gonghwachun Jjajang Myeon), 2 neighborhoods that come a shade closer are Yeonnam-dong (across from Hongik University) (see most recently 13.239 Hongsimchae Deopbap) and Jayang-dong (across from Konkuk University). Inexplicable that I'd never been to Jayang-dong until tonight, even though I've known about it for decades, and now it's next door to the office.
