Hi friends, welcome back to another edition of my monthly series showcasing all my delicious eats during the month. As you know, one of my favorite parts of living in NYC is the abundance of incredible food, and I've been on a mission to try all the best places and share my finds along the way. Disclaimer: these posts will cause hunger ๐Ÿ™‚ If you want to stay up to date on all my foodie finds, you can follow my food Instagram here.

As usual, I went to Dominique Ansel to grab the monthly Cronut flavor of Peach & Cornbread Ganache. The peach was a nice light taste but I didn't taste much cornbread, more of a creamy aftertaste. I immediately loved this cronut and knew it would be in my top five. This one also seemed flakier and the filling was perfectly spread out compared to the many others I've tried. It was a perfect cronut experience!

My ordering so far of most to least favorite: Salted Caramel Pretzel, Cherry Jam & Cappuccino Ganache, Peach & Cornbread Ganache, Lychee Ganache & Mascarpone Ganache, Pumpkin Pie & Brown Sugar Ganache, Blueberry & Sweet Corn, Ube Ganache & Thai Coconut Ganache, Strawberry & Olive Oil, Lemon Curd & Graham Cracker Ganache , Blackberry Jam & Coconut Ganache, Early Grey & Okinawa black Sugar, Mango Jam & Milk Chocolate Ganache, Strawberry Poppyseed & Buttermilk, Raspberry & Pistachio, Honey Peach Jam & Graham Cracker Ganache, Almond and Fig, Passionfruit & Vanilla, Peanut Butter & Banana, Caramel Flan & Orange Marmalade, Green Apple Butterscotch, and Black Truffle & Caramel Popcorn Cronut.

Mezcali is our go-to spot for brunch in our neighborhood. We've been here twice with friends and always have a great time. They have a bottomless brunch you can mix and match drinks, but my favorite is their version of a Moscow Mule. I'm a creature of habit and always order the CA Skillet. Jon enjoyed the CA Skillet and B'Fast Burrito.

Mister Dips cone of the month is Pride N' True with a cake batter ice cream and white chocolate coating. The white chocolate isn't my favorite, but I do love cake batter ice cream. Jon got the Buttermint Crunch with a tin-mint custard.

Places I was invited to:

Our first meal back from Italy was at Knock Knock, a delicious Japanese restaurant in Long Island City. Jon and I were looking forward to different flavors and we were not let down. We shared the Braised Short Rib and it just melted off the bone with a perfect teriyaki flavor. The entrรฉe is meant to be shared by two and comes with slaw and bao buns to make your own little sandwiches. We also loved how fresh the tuna takati pizza was and you can never go wrong with dumplings.

The Elgin is an American bar in Midtown with delicious food. It's a popular spot for happy hours, but the food is surprisingly high quality for a bar. We started with the tuna tartare tacos and it seemed like this is the most ordered appetizer. It was full of flavor with a nice crunch from the shell. For entrees we shared the lamb burger and vodka pizza. We saved a little room for the cookie skillet, it was the perfect way to end the meal.

I went to a foodie event at Brooklyn Delicatessen and they brought out a bunch of food for us all to try. They brought out the Roman style pizza first and it was so tasty. Next came out some Reubens and my favorite was the roast beef, it was so flavorful! The roasted turkey and corned beef were also great. The event finished with chocolate cake shakes and some deliciously light cheesecake. If you're ever near Times Square and get hangry, this would be my recommendation. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable, the Ruebens are $12 and will leave you full the rest of the day.

Coletta is a newer vegan restaurant and it was delicious! I'm obviously not vegan, but I love trying  out vegan spots and comparing them to their carnivorous counterparts. I dined with my friend and we started with the Crispy Calamari made of mushroom rings and the Coletta Chick'n Caesar. I was very impressed how close the calamari and chicken tasted and felt like the real deal. For entrees we shared the Margharita Pizza and Lumache alla Vodka. Both tasted delicious but the "cheese" on the pizza did have a different texture than regular cheese, it doesn't melt the same way. This is a cool spot and definitely worth checking out even if you aren't a vegan.
