Peach buying and storage hints.....
When buying Peaches look for plump fruit without bruises or shriveled skin. Depending on the variety, peach skin can be dark red to light blush to pale yellow. Whatever color the skin is, avoid fruit with a greenish tinge around the stem end indicating that the fruit is much too under-ripe.
When storing Peaches, once ripe the ideal way to keep peaches fresh is in a bag with large holes or, if they aren't being kept in the refrigerator, in an open bag away from other fruits. After you cut up your peaches, wrapping them tightly and placing in the fridge is your best choice.
