Today's Bible Reading- Isaiah Chapters 46-49.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 90°, a mix of sun and clouds, 10% chance of rain, good air quality, winds from the northeast at 6 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 90%.
Happy Saturday. My official day off, but I have things to do. My ledgers are off. Not sure where the mistake was made, but I need to fix it. That could take a while. I'll be running through the paper ledger and the software. The software is where I noticed the mistake.
I also need to run and pick up that package that wasn't left at my door. I forgot about it yesterday. It should be there by now, though. The lady at the desk said it would take 1-2 days for it to get there.
Supper last night was chicken nuggets, popcorn shrimp for Pop, mac and cheese, watermelon, and salad. It was very tasty. Aldi has these new gluten free chicken nuggets in the frozen section. They'd be terrific tossed in a sauce and served with rice. They almost have a tempura-like batter on them. Very tasty. Definitely will buy those again. I popped them in the air fryer and they were super crispy.
As delicious as all that food sounds, it was rather bland tasting, but my poor body needed a break from heavy foods. My original plan was to have beef and beans with cornbread and a salad. I think I'll reserve that recipe for later.
I was on Pinterest a couple of nights ago, and I saw an interesting recipe. You take pancake batter and instead of making the usual round pancake in the skillet, make sort of an oblong shape. Then, you put a strip of cooked bacon inside that shape and cover with a bit more pancake batter. Cook the pancake as normal, but in the end you have this bacon filled pancake! I forget what they were called on Pinterest, but that sounds really interesting. I may try that.
I don't have much else on my list today. I want to figure out my mistake in the ledgers and get them squared away. I also definitely need to go pick that package up. I may go ahead and return my aquaponics book to the library, too.
Oh, I did figure out a more cost-effective way to get some fish netting for the fish tanks. I looked up what materials were used to make fish nets, and let me tell you, there are some nasty web sites out there. Be careful what you put into a search engine. Wow. I clicked on one link and my goodness. I need some mind bleach. Anyhoo. I went down a rabbit hole for a while until I found what I needed. Looking at netting and looking at material, I think I can make my own netting. I need some polyester scrubby yarn and I need to learn the crochet stitch known as Solomon's Knot. If I can manage those two things, I can save a ton of money on netting for the fish tank, because places I was looking at were charging around $80 for a small one. I only need a 3-foot by 3-foot square net. I think I could probably make one for less than $20.
I'll work on those once I'm done with this current sock. Scrubby yarn is fairly easy to get ahold of. I've made several scrubby pineapples before. We still have a couple. What I love is that the yarn I used doesn't scratch glass. Very versatile.
That's all for now, peeps. I chose to write this before I get my own Bible reading done. I want to take my time today. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
