今日は昨日より数度暖かくなって２０度近くまで上がり、晴れたり曇ったりでしたが最低気温も１５度くらいと秋らしい気候でした。３度くらい違うと、随分違う気がします。
It was warmer today than yesterday, it was sunny earlier but became cloudy in the evening. It did go up to 20C and the lowest is about 15C, so nice and autumnal, not too cold. Just a few degrees makes a big difference.
そして、予定通りに午後にコロナワクチンを接種して来ました。予約の段階でそういうチョイスはなかったのでわたしたちは昨日インフルエンザの予防接種をしましたが、コロナワクチンを接種するところでインフルエンザの予防接種も一緒にされている方たちもおられ、予約をしなくてもその場でしてもらえるようでした。わかっていれば、わたしたちも同時にしてもらったのですが。どちらの腕にするか悩みましたが、まだ昨日した左腕が痛いので右にしてもらいました、両方痛くなるのは避けたかったけれど。。。
We did get covid jabs this afternoon as planned. When my husband booked them, there wasn't any choice to get flu jabs at the same time, but some people were getting both at the same time today, it looked like you can without any booking. If we'd known we would have got both today but we didn't. I wasn't sure which would be better, if I should get the covid jab on the same arm as I had a flu jab but in the end I had it on the other arm because I thought it might make the left arm too painful if I had it on the same arm.
わたしたちの日本への旅行があと３週間弱に迫って来て、ますます楽しみになると同時にちょっと緊張もして来ました。イギリスに引っ越して来て以来、テネリフェやローマに行ったくらいで長距離旅行はしていないので、何か大事なことを忘れていそうでドキドキします。日本ではほぼ１箇所に滞在しますし、少しだけ旅行をしますがホテルの予約は済んでいるので、あと大事なのは電車の予約くらいでそれほど緊張するほどのことはないはずと思いつつ、やはり緊張しています。
Our trip to Japan is now less than 3 weeks away and we are getting very excited but at the same time getting nervous. Since we moved to England, we'd only been to Tenerife and Rome, no long distance trips so we feel out of practice and worry we may forget something very important. We are staying mostly in one place in Japan and have booked the hotels for our short trips within Japan so all we have to do is to book the trains online so we shouldn't be so nervous but we are.
ちなみに、今回の旅行はこれまでの一時帰国とは違って夫とずっと一緒なので、たくさんのお友達にお目にかかるのは難しそうなのが残念なのですが、夫と一緒でも良いよ、という方、ご連絡くださいませ（笑）。その点は不便（？）だったりはするのですが、夫とそんなに長い時間日本で一緒に過ごせたことがないので、それはそれで楽しみです。夫も楽しみだ、楽しみだと毎日嬉しそうにしています。日本で住んでいた頃に住んでいたところのすぐ近くに1ヶ月単位で借りれるマンションがあったので、そこを予約しています。日本を離れて２７年くらいくらい経っているので住んでいた辺りもいろいろと変わってはいるみたいですが、以前より便利になってレストランなども出来ている様子。神戸などで行きたいレストランのリストは長くなるばかり（笑）。ちょこちょこっと温泉などにも行くので、そちらも楽しみです。
Unlike before, my husband will be with me all the time in Japan so it'll be difficult for me to see many of my friends, but if anyone would be happy to see us both please contact me! My husband hasn't spent as long as a month in Japan before so it'll be fun, though. My husband keeps saying how much he is looking forward to it every day. We found a furnished apartment that you can rent a month near where we lived when we were in Japan, so it'll be great to 'live' there again. It's been as long as 27 years since we left Japan so I guess a lot has changed but it looks like for the better as there are quite a few new restaurants around there. My 'to go' restaurant list is getting longer and longer. We are planning to go to some hot springs as well, so that'll be a lot of fun, too.
今日の夕食は、リブアイ・ステーキでした。いつものようにマリネしたリブアイステーキを夫が低温調理器で調理したあと、外側を焼いてくれました。ソースは、赤ワインとピンクペッパーと少量のクリーム、これも毎回同じです。付け合わせは、夫が大好きなポテトのドーフィノアとステムブロッコリーのガーリック入り蒸し炒め。今日のステーキはあまり分厚くなく大きくもなかったので、２人とも完食しました。
Today's dinner was Rib-eye Steak. As always I marinaded the rib eye steaks, my husband cooked them in Anova (Low Temperature Cooking Equipment), then seared outside and made a sauce of red wine, pink pepper & cream. The side dishes are Potato Dauphinoise and steam-stir-fried stem broccoli with garlic. Today's ribeye steaks were not very thick and not so large so we both finished them.
