We arrived in the hotel in Cambridge around 4:00pm. We dropped our luggage in the room and went out. Our first stop was a patisserie (Maison Clement Bakery and Patisserie, which had lots of good reviews), which was very near the hotel. We were thinking of taking some cakes to our friends on the following day so we wanted to see if their cakes are good and also it was just a tea time. The tart base had more egg than what I bake at the lessons and also those we get at the patisserie in Shorham, but it was still good and crispy. I wanted to try their bread as well but decided not to buy any because I thought it will have gone hard by the time we get back home. They start baking very early in the morning and ope at 7:00am.

After this, we walked in town, looked in a few shops and get back to the hotel around 6:00pm. I remember there was an announcement in a department we were in saying they would be closing soon. 6:00pm seems incredibly early but it's later than it used to be, when I was living in Exeter all those years ago shops closed at 5:00pm and I always wondered when people did shopping.
