Be the bridge, be the light. When iron melts, when flowers spring from fields of blood—let the land be witness, and return home.
Manon Blackbeak or Crochan - holy Gods is a sight to behold or read in this book. She goes from a witch who is afraid to admit, afraid to care to rightfully what is hers. Although Dorian gets under her skin many a times.
The witch clans deciding to go for aid is a brilliantly written scene.
Fenrys provides the necessary comic relief many a times. Although his deep commitment and bond to Aelin is a moment of pride for Aelin fandom.
Aelin becomes wiser albeit more determined to end the rule of Maeve. She goes deeper into her magical powers and sacrifices more than any character to save the world. War is never won with magic alone but with strategic partnerships and Aelin cleverly forges these throughout the book.
Chaol is calm as hell and his positive logical disposition is so good to read, specially when he deals with his father. The childhood trauma is depicted and dealt very carefully and sensitively in this book.
Dorian, the underrated character of the first three books, is the star of this book. He is still perfecting his raw magic, guiding the witches, learning about wyrdkeys, scheming and plotting with the devil herself. The way he uses his magic to trick even the powerful Valg is delightful to read. His character development reaches its zenith in this book with him becoming clever and resourceful as opposed to the bunny he was in the earlier books. Like Manon, he also asserts for what is rightfully his.
Aedion displays bravery and loyalty but commits blunders on the personal front. His relationship with Lysandra goes through a very rough patch and many a times, you want to hate him for what he does to her. But let's not forget that Lysandra also disrespected and deceived him in the previous book. You can say that Aedion is over stressed because of war, Lysandra and his complicated relationship with his father.
Yrene, in a challenging situation, manages to come out with a solution to defeat the Valg and actually defeats a villain. You have to hand it out to Sarah J Maas for highlighting the lady characters and their bravery.
I can go on and on but this book is a fitting end to this series. My first romantasasy or romantic fantasy fiction comes to end and I'm looking forward to read more from Sarah J Maas.
With that,
Nameless is my price!
