昨日まで３日ほど２０度くらいまで気温が上がってとっても良いお天気でしたが、今日は夕方から曇って少し雨も降りました。明日、午後からまた回復するようですが、気温はもうあまり上がらないみたいなのでミニヒートウェーブ（ロンドンは２５度くらいまで上がったみたいですが、２５度でもヒートウェーブとは呼べない気はしますが呼びたいんでしょうね）は終わりみたいです。
We had beautiful weather for 3 days, the temperature was aroud 20C during the day, but the temperature dropped today and it rained a little in the evening today. It looks like it'll get better again tomorrow afternoon but it doesn't look like it'll get very warm for a while, so I guess the mini heatwave (it did go up to 25C I think in London but I don't personally think it qualifies to be called a heatwave, I guess they want to call it so to feel better) is gone now.
昨日は昼間結構暑かったので夕方まで待って、奥のパティオに置いているポットの植え替えをしました。チューリップがもうすっかりダメになってしまったので、春から秋のお花に植え替えです。植え付けは思っているより時間もかかり大変なのと、コンポストが全部植え替える量のコンポストがなかったので、奥のパティオの大きなポット２つと小さなポット１つに植え付けをし、コンポストを買い足して今日もう１つの小さなポットに植え付けをしました。イギリスで売られている苗は日本ほど色々改良されたものはなく結構シンプルな品揃えであまり心ときめかないのですが、やはりお花が咲いているのは良いものなので、これまでよく育つペチュニア主に買っていましたが、ペチュニアはベタベタして嫌な匂いがするので、今回はカリブラコアを中心にしてみました。周りに２色のカリブラコアを３つずつ交互に、そして真ん中はバニラの香りの白いナメシアを植えました。小さなポットには、カンパニュラを植えました。カリブラコアは植え付ける前にピンチをしたのであまりお花は咲いていませんが、大きくなってくれることを期待。
It was quite hot during the day so we waited until evening to do the gardening. The tulips in pots are all gone so we need to re-pot them for spring/summer/autumn. It always takes longer to pot than we expect and we also didn't have enough compost to do more so we just re-potted 2 large pots and 1 small pot on the far patio yesterday then bought more compost and re-potted the other small pot - so 4 pots in total. We need to get more plants for other pots. I find that you don't find a lot of unusual and improved plants in garden centres in England (you need to buy unusual ones online) so you can only get ordinary plants in most cases but I still wanted some flowers so we've been mainly planting petunias, they are easy to get and grow well. However, they are horrible to dead head (and you have to dead head them) as they are sticky and smell awful. So, this year we are mainly planted Caribracoa (not sticky and hopefully less smell). 2 different colours of caribracoa and vanilla smelling namesia in the middle. In the smaller pots we planted Campanula. I cut off the tops of caribracoa before planting them so not many flowers yet but hopefully they'll grow fast and well.

As I hadn't done 'garden update' for a while, I also took photos of various flowers/plants.
クリスマスに義弟夫婦にもらった薔薇２株、いくつかお花が咲いて来ています。クリーム色と聞いていたのに最初ピンクでびっくりしたのですが、開くにつれて黄色くなりました。これは昨日の写真ですが、今日は一番大きく開いているのは満開になり、色も薄いクリーム色に変わっていました。
2 roses my husband's brother and his wife gave us as Christmas presents last year are growing well. We were told they were cream colour but they were quite pink to start with - but then turned pale cream colour. These photos were taken yesterday but since then the rose opened the most opened up fully and the colour changed to paler cream. They have lots of buds so we are looking forward to seeing them open soon.
アリウムが綺麗に咲いて来ています。ゆっくり、ゆっくり開くので満開までにはまだ何週間かあると思います。
Alliums are opening up slowly, they do take time to fully open so I guess it'll be a few weeks from now when they are fully open.
ビバーナムはもう真っ白、そろそろお花が散り始めています。
Bivernum flowers are all white already and have started to falling.
家の中からは見えない、お庭の門を入ったすぐのところはいつもじめじめしていて粘度質で何を植えてもすぐに根腐れしてしまっていたのですが、去年、池の側などじめじめしているところでよく育つらしいカンデラブラ・プリムローズ（九輪草）を植えてみたところ、蕾をつけて少しお花が開き始めました。
The area at the garden gate, where we cannot see from the house, is always wet and very clayey so every plant we planted had gone rotten, nothing worked. Last year, we planted Candelabra Primula because they grow at a pond or other wet area, they seem to be doing well and started to flower.
同じところにホスタも植えていて、冬の間は姿を消していましたが元気に葉っぱが出てきました。（多分）なめくじに食べられた株も１つありますが、他は元気そう。
In the same area we also planted hostas. They seem to be doing OK although one of them were eaten by, I think, snails.
そして、シダも植えてみました。ここは、日もほとんど当たらないですしジメジメして雨が降ると水たまりも出来るので、何も育ちませんでした。
This year we planted some ferns as this area hardly gets any sun. We'll see how they would do here. I really preferred some flowers and had been rejecting the idea of having these but nothing seems to grow here so planted these, better than nothing.
ペンステモンがずいぶん繁りました。お花はまだ先。
Penstemons are growing well, too.
レディーズ・マントルもだいぶん大きくなってきていますし、サルビア・ネモローサの背も伸びて来ました。
Lady's mantles are growing and Salvia Nemorosa are getting taller.
アネモネは、今年、あまりお花が出ていません。春にガーデナーさんにマルチングをしてもらったのですが、その時に色々なお花を埋められてしまったのです。多分、そのせいだと思います。クリスマスローズも葉っぱまで埋められてしまったので、気付いてからわたしが掘り返しましたが、今年はあまり状態が良くありません。
Anemones aren't doing well at all this year. Our gardener did mulching in spring for us but he buried so many plants under the mulch and I think he burried most of the anemones, too. Christmas roses aren't doing well this year also because he buried them.
去年植えたオダマキ。こんなに小さなお花とは知らず。。。去年はあるんだかないんだか、という感じでしたが今年はずいぶん元気です。２種類植えました。
We planted Aquilegia last year, I didn't realise they were such small flowers and last year they were not noticeable at all. This year they look better. We planted 2 different colours/
真っ白で綺麗だったモックオレンジ、だいぶん散って来ました。
Mock Orange were looking so beatuiful but now falling off.
ピオニー。まだ小さいですが、たくさん蕾をつけています。
Peonies have many buds though still quite small.
