昨日はやっと春らしい気候になった、と思っていましたが、やはり長くは続かず今日はきっちり雨が降りました。そして、明日も雨の予報。屋根の修理が明日から始まる予定でしたが（雨漏りで修理に来てもらった時は来てくれる業者がなかなか見つからず、見つかってもなかなか来てくれず、でしたが、大掛かりな修理になるとあっという間に来てくれることに、ゲンキンなものです）、雨なので延期。でも、火曜日からは１週間ほど良いお天気になり暖かくなる予報です。予報が当たりますように。
After the lovely (finally!) springy day yesterday, it's back to drizzly day today and is expected to rain tomorrow again. The roof repair was scheduled to start tomorrow, but it's been delayed because of the rain. (It's very hard to find anyone to come and fix a little problem but when the repair is significant and expensive it doesn't take long at all for them to find a day!) The forecast says it'll be sunny from Tuesday next week for a week and I'm so looking forward to the sunny week!! I do hope the forecast is right.
今日の夕食は、少し前に買って美味しかったチキンの胸肉のマンゴーとココナッツマリネを先日また買ったので、それをさっと焼いたもの、クスクスサラダ、ローストポテト。ローストポテトはオーブンに入れるだけだし、チキンもフライパンでさっと焼くだけ。クスクスサラダは結構刻むものがありますが、刻むのは嫌いじゃないので簡単メニューでした。やっと少し暖かくなって、こんなものを食べたくなる気分になりました。
Today's dinner was Chicken Breast Marinaded With Mango & Coconut. We bought a pack from Sainsbury's the other day and we enjoyed it, so bought it again. We had it with couscous salad and roast potato. Potatoes are just roasted, chicken takes a few minutes to cook in a frying pan. Couscous salad takes a bit of chopping but I don't mind chopping at all, so it was quite a nice and easy dinner. Finally it's getting warmer and we started feeling like eating this type of food.
今日は、デザートも。先日セインズベリーズで買った、スティームスポンジ。電子レンジでチンするだけ。ソースが少し甘すぎますが、ふわふわのスポンジで美味しかったです。
We also had a dessert. We bought Steam Sponge at Sainsbury's the other day. All you do is to microwave. The sauce is a little too sweet for me but the sponge is nice and fluffy.
暖かくなって、と言えば、やっとヒーターをオフにしました。わたしのクラフトルームは２日ほど前にオフにしていて、今のところ少しひんやりとする程度で大丈夫。ベッドルームは全くヒーターを入れていないのですが、下の階に入れているヒーターで暖かって暑いくらいになっています。下の階は朝２時間ほど夫の朝食時間に入れて、夕方リビングのヒーターを入れていましたが、どちらも今日オフにしました。ヒートウェーブ（と言っても２０度くらいですが）も来週予報されているので、このタイミングでヒーターをオフにされるご家庭が多いのではないかなと思います。
Talking about getting warm, we finally turned the heating off today. We did turn off the under floor heating in my craft room a couple of days ago and it's been OK, it feels a little cold occasionally but I can use a little heater for 5 minutes and it feels fine. We haven't been using heating in our bedroom at all but it started to get too warm at night because of the heating on the ground floor. All we have been doing was to put the heating on in the kitchen for a couple of hours in the morning for my husband to have breakfast and for a couple of hours in the evening in the living room, but both has been turned off now. We are expecting a heatwave (well, the temperature will only be about 20C so I don't think we can call it a heatwave but they are calling it so) next week, so I expect many people are turning the heating off now.
