This was one of the craziest ideas I have had, but it worked better than I expected it would. The other day I went to make a salad for supper about 4 in the afternoon. Looked in the fridge for the lettuce keeper that should of had the iceberg lettuce we bought on the weekend. No lettuce keeper in the fridge but the lettuce was sitting on the shelf. We hadn't cored it and rinsed it like we normally do. Normally it's done when we get home and the lettuce sits in the keeper for a couple of days and dries. Since that didn't happen I had to find a way to dry it for supper. Have a salad spinner which kind of works but I usually end up finishing the job with paper towels. I have always hated doing that so was thinking about what else I could do. I, for some reason remembered my wife's blow dryer had a no heat setting. Being a goofball I decided to try it. I let the lettuce drain after I rinsed it for about a half hour in the fridge. I separated enough leaves for supper and went to work with the blow dryer. Amazingly it worked extremely well and the lettuce was dry in a few minutes. Totally faster than the spinner and paper towels. You need to put the lettuce leaves in a dry sink otherwise your going to end up with a mess on your counter. If you're in a rush try it, it works great. | | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
