今日はお昼過ぎまでお天気が悪く少し雨が降ったりもして家の中がとても暗くて夜のようでしたが、その後良くなって夕方には結構陽がさして良いお天気になりました。気温は１日低めであまり上がらずでした。６月中旬とは思えない寒さ。
It was very cloudy and dark this morning, it was so dark inside the house that it felt like a night time, but it brightened up later in the afternoon and was quite nice and sunny in the evening. It's still quite cold for June, though.
夕方になって Sara Raven からコスモスの苗が届いたので、早速夫と植えることにしました。本来５月中旬には着くはずだったのですが予定が遅れて６月初めになると連絡があり、その後さらに遅れて６月末になると連絡があり、昨日いきなり「出棺しました」と連絡がありました。これまでにも同じようなことが何度もあり、実際のデリバリーがいつになるのかわからなくて困ります。生きているものなので予定通りに行かないのだろうと思いますが、長期に留守にすると大変なことになる可能性があります。今回は、家にいる時で良かったです。
Pots of cosmos arrived from Sara Raven this evening so we planted them before dinner. They were spposed to be delivered in the middle of May but I had an email from them saying it'll be delayed to early June, then another email saying it'll be delayed to end of June. Then suddenly I had an email saying it was shipped yesterday. Similar thing happened quite a few times, you just never know when their plants are ready. I supposed it is very hard to predict when they can ship because it depends on the weather etc but we can be in a big trouble if plants are delivered when we are away more than just a day or two.
コスモスは頑丈にパッキングはしてありましたが苗の中に弱いのがあって１つ、２つ、茎が折れていて、特に苗の中の１つは真ん中の茎は残っていますが他は全部折れてしまい、ちゃんと育つのかどうか。全部で９本（３種類を３つずつ）も買ったのでいくつかは育つでしょうから、それほど心配ではないのが救い。１本が結構大きく育つので本当はもっと間を空けて植えなくてはいけないのですが、あまり場所がないので近めの距離で３つを１箇所に、３箇所に分けて植えました。お庭の写真も撮ったので、明日にでもお庭アップデートをしようと思います。
They were packed very well, but when we opened the box there were a couple of little branches (?) that were broken, specially one of them didn't have any branches left so we wonder if it'll live. Fortunately we bought 9 of them (3 of 3 different cosmos) so if we loose one it's not a disaster. You are supposed to plant them about 45 cm apart but we don't have enough space for all so we planted them quite a bit closer to each other in 3 different places. I took some photos of the garden so I'll do some garden update soon.
さて、今日の夕食は、久しぶりにエンチラーダもどきにしました。実はソフトタコスにするつもりでいたのですが、トルティーヤが６枚残っていると思い違いをしていて、実際には４枚しか残っていませんでした。１人２枚では足りないのでどうしようと思っていたら、夫が、「エンチラーダなら足りるよね？」と。グッド・アイデア！エンチラーダならチーズを乗せて焼きますし、サラダも多めに添えられるので４枚あれば十分。エンチラーダの定義を良く知らないのですが、多分、本来、上から辛いソースをかけるのだと思うので、これはエンチラーダもどき、ですかね。中身は、チリコンカーニ、ワカモーレ、玉ねぎ、シャンツァイ。サルサを入れても良かったかもしれません。くるくると巻いてグラタン皿に入れて上から溶けるチーズののせて、オーブンで１０分も焼くと焼き上がり。上から少しグリーンのタバスコをかけました。美味しかったです！思っていたほどトルティーヤが残っていなくてエンチラーダになりましたが、怪我の功名でタコスより良かったかも。
For dinner, we made Enchilada. I was planning to have soft tacos but there were only 4 tortillas left (I thought there were 6), 2 each isn't enough as a meal so I was wondering what we should do - then my husband came up with a great idea! He said, "it's enough for Enchilada, isn't it?" As we use cheese on top and also have it with a salad it is enough, so that's what we did. I don't know what Enchilada is supposed to be, to be honest, I think it's supposed to have some hot sauce on top? In that case, strictly speaking ours isn't Enchilada, but it's similar. I put some chilli con carne, guacamole, onion, coriander leaves in each tortilla, rolled them all, put them in a baking dish, topped with some pizza cheese then baked in the oven for something like 10 minutes. I think we could have added some salsa inside. We dropped a few drops of green tabasco for extra kick. It was very tasty. We ended up having Enchilada but I think it was nicer than tacos specially because we hadn't had it for a long time.
