Shine True: Finding Beauty in God's Love

You Are Beautiful in God's Eyes

Dear Beloved,

Today, we're going to talk about a special verse from the Bible, 3 John 1:11. It tells us, "Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but [imitate] what is good. The one who practices good [exhibiting godly character, moral courage and personal integrity] is of God; the one who practices [or permits or tolerates] evil has not seen God [he has no personal experience with Him and does not know Him at all]."

God calls you beloved, which means dearly loved. Yes, you! You are dearly loved by God, more than you can imagine. Sometimes, you might feel like you want to fit in and be beautiful by the world's standards. It's normal to feel that way, especially when it seems like everyone around you thinks that's what's important. But God sees beauty in a different way.

God's standard of beauty isn't about the clothes you wear, the way you style your hair, or any physical feature. It's about your heart, your actions, and how you treat others. When you choose kindness, patience, and love, you are choosing what is good, and that is truly beautiful in God's eyes.

I understand you might feel unheard, frustrated, and even angry sometimes. It's tough when things feel overwhelming, and it might seem like no one understands. But God hears you. He sees your struggles and He's right there with you, ready to listen and help. When you feel like you can't control your anger, talk to God about it. He can help you find peace and calm in the storm.

Remember, feeling sad and wanting to hurt yourself is a sign that you need to talk to someone who can help. God places people in our lives to support us, like family members, teachers, and friends. It's okay to tell them how you're feeling. You're not alone, and there are people who want to help you through this.

You are wonderfully made by God (Psalm 139:14), and He has a special plan for your life. Your value doesn't come from being perfect or meeting the world's standards. It comes from being God's child. He loves you just the way you are, and He wants you to see yourself through His eyes.

So, let's try to practice what is good every day, showing godly character, moral courage, and personal integrity. That's what makes you truly beautiful.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for loving me and calling me your beloved. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and to know that I am beautiful because I am Yours. Give me the strength to practice what is good and to show love and kindness to others. When I feel frustrated or angry, help me to find peace in You. Amen.

Remember, you are loved, you are heard, and you are beautiful in the most important way possible. Keep shining brightly with the beauty of God's goodness in your heart.

With love and prayers,
Elizabeth
