Nunggot Dweji is a Korean restaurant. Specializes in grilled pork (dinner), including imported Iberico pork from Spain, and budae jjigae (lunch).
Originally, we'd intended to dine at a different place, which shall remain nameless, but they were already pack to capacity by the time we got there at 17:30; with business booming, they clearly didn't give a shit whether we waited for a table or not - when I asked the cashier how long it might take for us to be seated, she replied "I won't answer that. Just go outside, we'll call you when it's ready." - so we immediately left and ended up at Nunggot Dweji.
Located in the same alley as Mahachai (see orange building at right).
The occasion was to treat the sales team (SLS) for their hard work over the past few months, in the wake of Heather's departure, upon taking over the IRIS program. I'd offered to give them my credit card and have a relaxed boss-free dinner, but they insisted that I join them - while probably an ass-kissing move for the most part, I'd like to think that they wanted my company at least a tiny bit.
Pluma (4.0): it even looks like beef.
Pluma is a cut of pork, specifically from the Ibérica pig. End of the loin, located towards the back of the neck. The name derives from the Spanish for "feather," in reference to its triangular shape.
Galbisal (rib fingers) (3.5)
Moksal (3.0)
The pluma was amazing. Possibly the most tender and flavorful piece of pork that I've ever experienced, more like beef. Though tempted to stick with it, we were curious to see how other cuts measured up, but nothing came close. Can't wait to go back for more.
Tableside service from a guy (wearing a Rolex Datejust) who appeared to be the owner.
