The novelty of grocery delivery is over. For now.
Customers have signed up. Customers order groceries. Customers get them delivered.
But now the industry seems to have stalled. The ads have faded. The excitement has gone.
Where's the marketing? Is this the end of its growth? Has it topped?
I think not. It needs to a fresh look and perspective to get people on board. It might take added value like meal prep plans, best times to use delivery, or best days to fulfill orders on the list. And new marketing that addresses the lack of fun and loss of time grocery shopping than how the customer is satisfied getting the groceries.
The industry seems stable, but when things get stale, they get tossed aside for something else. Let's hope grocery delivery gets a refresh loaded with new ideas to get that person who finally says: "yes, sign me up for grocery delivery".
