Creamy Summer Fruit Salad Delight !!

By deiv3 on August 31, 2024

Introduction:
A creamy base layered with juicy fruits makes this fruit salad vibrant and fresh. It is an ideal summer treat, brunch or healthy dessert as it is easy to customize the recipe with your favorite fruits and some sweetness.Ingredients:

Fruits:

1 cup peeled and sliced kiwi

1 cup diced mango

1 cup raspberries

2 bananas, sliced

1 cup chopped canned peaches (or fresh if available)

Creamy Layer:

  • 1 cup whipped cream or whipped topping • 1 cup yogurt or sour cream • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Garnish: Sprinkle of powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions:
Prepare the Creamy Base: In a mixing bowl combine whipped cream and yogurt (or sour cream). Add honey or maple syrup if you want it sweeter. Mix until smooth. Layer the Fruit Salad: Spread half of the creamy mixture at the bottom in a large serving dish. Over the creamy base layer up mixed fruits starting with kiwi then mango. Spread another layer of the creamy mixture evenly. For a colorful presentation top them with remaining fruits beautifully; these should include raspberries, banana slices, and peaches. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate fruit salad for at least one hour to allow the flavors to integrate and keep it cool.

Before serving, you may sprinkle a light covering of powdered sugar if you so desire.

Hints for Success:
Use fresh and mature fruits to enhance taste and texture.

Replace whipped cream with Greek yogurt to have a lighter option.

To prevent bananas from browning, coat them with some lemon juice before tossing them into the salad.

Health Benefits:
Kiwi is also high in vitamin C and antioxidants

Mango also provides vitamins A and C plus dietary fiber

Raspberries too are rich in fiber and antioxidants

Bananas also supply potassium and vitamin B6

Peaches on the other hand contain vitamins A and C in plenty

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):
Input 1: You should be able to make these foods beforehand.

A: Yes, you can make it hours before. However, do not put bananas until the time of serving to avoid discoloration.

A: Though fresh fruits are better in terms of texture, you can also use frozen ones. Ensure to thaw and drain them properly before using.

Q: How should I store leftovers?
