今日は、午前中は曇っていましたが午後から結構晴れました。気温は昨日と同じ20度ちょっとくらいだったので、ちょっと肌寒い感じでした。今週後半は少し気温が上がるようです。
It was cloudy in the morning but got sunny in the afternoon today. The temperature was about the same as yesterday, so it felt a little chilly to sit outside.
昨日の土曜日はお昼にしっかり食べて夜は適当に済ませたので、夫は、今日、ディナー担当をしてくれました。どうしよう、どうしようと言っていたので、冷凍庫にいくつか豚の肩ロースの塊があるので、Thermomix で何か作ったら?と提案して、「ポーク・ビンダルー(カレー_」を作ってくれました。Thermomix は材料を入れれば調理は機械がしてくれるので、とても楽。洗い物もあまり出ませんし、キッチンもほとんど汚れません。レシピ通りにするとソースがしゃぶしゃぶ過ぎたのと、お肉も少し固かったので更に30分そのまま煮込みました。もう少し煮ても良かったかも、という固さ。あと15分煮ればほろっとなったかな。ご飯は、わたしがバズマティ米を玉ねぎやスパイスを炒めたものと合わせて炊きました。
As we had a big lunch yesterday, we didn't have a proper meal in the evening, so my husband said he'll cook today (he is in charge of cooking dinner on Saturdays). However he was stressed trying to think of what to cook, so I suggested that perhaps he can find a recipe on Cookidoo that he uses a block of pork shoulder (as we had a few of them in the freezer) and cook it using Thermomix and he decided to cook Pork Vindaloo. When you use Thrmomix for cooking all you need to co is to weigh everything and chuck them in, the actual cooking is done by Thermomix, so it's nice and easy. It also doesn't make the kitchen island top dirty. When he followed the recipe, the gravy was too thin and the pork wasn't tender so he cooked further 30 minutes. It was tender enough but 15 more minutes probably made it very tender. I cooked Basmati rice with sauteed onion and spices.
お味は、とても美味しかったです!ただ、かなり辛くて、最初は「ビンダルーなんだから、これくらい辛い方が美味しいよね。」と言いながら食べていたのですが、半分くらい食べたところ、「やっぱり、ちょっと辛すぎたかもね。」ということになり、最後の方は罰ゲームのようになりました(笑)。バードチリ(と書いてありましたが、見た目はバードチリより大きい日本の唐辛子くらいの感じ)が種入りで3つ入っているのですが、次回は2つでいいね、ということに。でも、お味は本当に美味しかったのでリピあり。
It tasted delicious! However, it was quite spicy. At first we were enjoying it saying, "As it's Vindaloo it does need to be spicy, this is great." but by the time we had about a half of it we started to feel the heat and thought maybe it was a little too spicy for us, and at the end it was like some sort of a game! It had 3 bird chillis (with seeds and all, they were much larger than bird chills that I know of but they were sold as bird cihllis) so I guess we need only 2. It really tasted delicious, though, so I'm sure we'll cook it again but with less heat.




食べ終わっても口の中がヒリヒリして辛かったので、アイスクリームを食べて舌を宥めました(笑)。
When we finished the dinner, inside our mouths were burning, so we calmed our tongs down with ice cream.
