Long Chicken is a sandwich by Burger King. Minced chicken patty, breaded and deep-fried, plus lettuce and mayonnaise on an elongated sesame seed bun. As suggested by the sub-print "1979 Original," the item would simply appear to be the standard chicken sandwich (now referred to as "Original Chicken Sandwich" at Burger King USA), but renamed more literally.
It was fine, as it's always been. In this case, I prefer the comforting predictability of the processed chicken over a patty comprising a whole chicken thigh, which can sometimes be overwhelming (see for example 14.268 Chicken King).
For some reason, Burger King likes to omit the word "sandwich" or "burger" in the names of its sandwiches/burgers involving chicken. "Long Chicken," rather than "Long Chicken Sandwich/Burger" (in fairness, the Korean menu calls it "롱치킨버거 (Long Chicken Burger)"). Also "Chicken King" (see above) and "Spicy Tender Crispy" (see 2.282 Spicy Tender Crispy). At Burger King USA, they also have "Royal Crispy Chicken" and "Chicken Jr." While "sandwich/burger" isn't strictly necessary when the product name is uniquely proprietary - like McDonald's "McChicken," which couldn't refer to anything else but that specific item - it seems needed when the name is otherwise a string of generic words that could apply to any type of dish. Case in point, Burger King Philippines had King's Crunchy Chicken, which in fact was not a sandwich/burger (see 10.365 King's Crunchy Chicken).
