KETO BISCUITS AND GRAVY

By deiv3 on September 11, 2024

BISCUITS AND GRAVY. You'll make buttery biscuits smothered with keto sausage gravy in this easy low-carb keto biscuits and gravy recipe. Just like the real thing, it's pure comfort food!

TIP: You can adjust gravy thickness easily. Feel free to thin it out with more broth if it gets too thick. Simmer to evaporate the liquid, and/or add more cream cheese if it's too thin.

CAN I USE DIFFERENT BISCUITS?
Yes, you can. Almond flour biscuits are very basic, so with the easy keto sausage gravy, they pair perfectly, but you could also make garlic parmesan biscuits/keto cheddar bay biscuits.
WHAT IF MY GRAVY IS TOO THICK/TOO THIN?
You can simply whisk in some more broth if the gravy thickens up too quickly or cooks too long until it's the desired consistency.

You can cook it for longer to evaporate some of the moisture if the gravy is too thin. If you add more cream cheese then it would also thicken it.

IS SAUSAGE GRAVY KETO?
Thickened with flour, so they are not keto-friendly.

This sausage gravy is keto, instead of flour, as we thicken it with cream cheese.
IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE TO PORK SAUSAGE?
Yes! For similar flavors, the closest would be turkey sausage. But any ground meat will work if you want, such as ground beef or chicken. For those, you may need more salt and seasonings than you'd use for sausage, which is already seasoned.

CAN YOU MAKE IT AHEAD?
Yes, 3-4 days ahead, you can make the keto gravy and biscuits. Until the day of combining them, just wait. For 1-2 days, store biscuits at room temperature/refrigerate for longer. If you're not eating it immediately, the gravy should be in the fridge right away.

CAN YOU FREEZE KETO SAUSAGE GRAVY?
Yes, for 2-3 months, you can freeze the gravy. Before reheating, let thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Biscuits can be frozen(separately as well).

REHEATING INSTRUCTIONS:
In a skillet/microwave, reheat the gravy. Add a bit more broth as needed if it's too thick after reheating. Biscuits can be reheated in the microwave/in the oven.
