昨日の夜中から急に寒く感じています、今日もあまり良いお天気ではなかったので日中も肌寒く感じました。明日は、最低気温５度の予定。そろそろ、暖房が必要かも。ただ、以前も書いたのですが、時間ごとの予報を見るとどこにも５度は見当たらず７度が一番低い温度木曜日は最低気温４度となっていますが時間ごとの予報を見ると６度より低い温度は見当たらないのです、イギリスのお天気予報の不思議。来種は、また最高気温２０度まで上がるのでこのまま冬になるわけではなさそう。お天気も来週は良くなりそうです。でも、まだ９月初めというのもうレストランからのメールにはクリスマスのことが書かれてありますし、カードの世界でもクリスマスカード用のスタンプやダイが出ていて、クリスマスがもうすぐそこ、という雰囲気がし始めました。今年は、クリスマスカード、頑張って早めに作ろう！と自分に言い聞かせているところです。
It got quite cold late at night yesterday and it wasn't very nice weather today so felt cold during the day as well. Apparently, it'll be 5C the lowest tomorrow, maybe we need to turn the heating on. However, like I've written before, the weather forecast for tomorrow says the lowest temperature is 5C but when you look at the details that shows every hour there is no 5C anywhere, the lowest is 7C. On Thursday, the lowest is 4C but in the details by hour I can only see 6C. This is a big mystery of English weather forecast to me. Anyway, I already received an email from a restaurant mentioning Christmas and in the card making industry stamps, dies etc for card making are now for Christmas cards, so it feels as if Christmas isn't far away. I'm telling myself that I must start making Christmas cards early this year!
今日の夕食は、パスタのマッシュルームとビーフラグーソースでした。ビーフのラグーは以前夫が作ってくれていたもので冷凍庫に入れていたのを出して使い、そこにニンニクとマッシュルームを炒めたものを足しました。パスタは、スペルト小麦のスパゲティーにトライしてみました。すごく不味くはないものの、やはり本物のパスタではない食感。日本語で検索するともちもちしていると書かれている記事がたくさんヒットしましたが、トライしたものはもちもちという食感ではなかったです、どちらかというともそっとした感じ、お蕎麦に近い食感な気がしました。ソースは美味しかったので美味しくいただけましたが、やっぱり普通のパスタが良いな。アジア風のパスタサラダのようなものになら合うかも、と思いました。
Today's dinner was pasta with Beef Ragu & Mushroom sauce. The ragu is from the freezer, my husband made a big batch a little while ago and we froze it, and I added sauteed garlic and mushrooms to it. We tried Spelt spaghetti this time thinking it's more healthy, we've tried spelt short pasta before but not long pasta. Well, it wasn't horrible but I did miss the texture of proper pasta. When I searched in Japanese I found a lot of writings saying it has very chewy texture but what we had wasn't chewy. I think it was close to Soba (buckwheat) noodles. The sauce tasted very good so we did still enjoy it but I'd rather have proper pasta... I have a feeling this spelt spaghetti may work well as a Asian pasta salad, though,
