2022 has started out as a 'made you look!' kind of year already. What with the Omicron variant, the volcanic eruption and tsunami in Tonga and also the situation with Russia and the Ukraine, hopefully diplomacy will ensue. I forgot the flooding in the Eastern states of Australia. There are some food shortages due to supply chain issues caused by Omicron over east and the aforementioned flooding which is worsening the problems. Honestly though, there is still a good supply of food in the shops. Prices are definitely up and the price of fuel is also high. In Western Australia things are still fairly good, though we are having some outbreaks in the community. The Premier/State government is doing a good job of keeping the numbers manageable. Today the Premier announced the plan outline for when we reach higher case numbers so at least everyone knows what's going on and we have time to understand it all. I think they are doing a good job of protecting health, while balancing the requirements necessary for society/community to keep functioning. Of course, that's only my opinion We are keeping happy, healthy and calm. There are product limits in the food shops but there is still plenty to go around. I'm quite certain at this point that what ever happens we will manage. We are very lucky to live in a place that has a strong infrastructure. I hope, as always, that life is calm where you are.
I'm getting ready for study to begin in February and need to go shopping for a head set with a microphone so that's exciting!I'm waiting to be able to get my third dose of the vaccine but I'm not eligible yet. I'm filling in my semester planner and ordering my text books. We have been watching movies and swimming and enjoying each others company. I mean not all of us all of the time, although to be fair, sometimes it is the majority of us We have a new permanent member of our household, which brings our number to nine humans, 2 fish, 4 cats and 1 large dog
Another week and the month will be over. How did that happen? xo
