The Freedom Convoy has been making its way around Canada with a large number of truckers both vaccinated and unvaccinated said to be taking part in the demonstration.
The anti-vaccine mandate protest has also captured the attention of many both online and on the streets. A number of supporters have come out to support the Freedom Convoy that has planned to make its way from around the nation to Ottawa to express their disagreement with vaccine mandates that threaten the livelihood of a number of truckers.
The the concern for the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for truckers is reported to be one of the main reasons that truckers are protesting, but this isn't the only reason when it comes to why all are out there, or why some might be taking to support them on the streets and on social media.
With the restrictions surrounding COVID-19 it means that those truckers who aren't fully vaccinated to meet the requirements aren't going to be able to keep up with business as usual. However, despite the truckers who have taken part in the protest so far the Canadian Trucking Alliance has condemned the Canadian Freedom Convoy movement.
The Freedom Convoy in Canada has Raised Millions of dollars So Far
The Freedom Convoy has it has been referred to has managed to raise funds from thousands of donations already and overall the campaign has brought in millions of dollars. The GoFundMe has raised over $5.1 million with over 60k donations coming in.
However, it was reported later on that the campaign had been halted under a plan could be established for the funds, but the organizer later reportedly suggested that the cash funds weren't frozen. And things still look to be going as normal for the fundraising efforts.
The truckers are expected to arrive sometime on Saturday in Ottawa.
Truckers have been seen making their way around highways in British Columbia, Alberta, and other areas. #TruckersForFreedom was also trending this week with a number of people both showing their support for and criticizing the movement.
This has become a national story lately with all of the truckers coming from around the country to take part and protest in this Freedom Convoy that has been established. There is also international attention now focused on the 2022 Freedom Convoy of truckers protesting around the nation as well. A number of Canadians have also expressed their support in-person and online for the cause as well, even some political representatives.
This is a highly polarizing issue though with many individuals expressing passionate support for and harsh criticism against this protest movement, as is the case with many other protest movements that have taken place in the past.
