Ok, we are past Christmas season, but it doesn't mean that we have to wait for one of the best thing during Christmas: panettone.

My first panettone artigianale (artisanal) was with Gouter, which I really enjoyed, especially when you learn about the multi-day process to create these breads that you have an appreciation for the work that goes into it.

At the time, there was a baker, Toronto Panettone, creating panettone in small quantity and it was hard to get as there was a waitlist for it, particularly when you have to email to get on it.. I bookmarked them as a reminder for next year's Christmas season.

However after the holidays, Toronto Panettone launched online pre-orders when they announced sale drops. I ended up missing a few drops, but finally managed to snag a panettone in January.

The distinctive dome top isn't too sweet (I felt the Gouter one was really sweet), and the buttery interior crumb is just so darn good. It is THE best panettone I've had, and while there are other bakers and bakeries that I've yet to try, I think it's going to be hard to top this.

To obtain one, follow their Instagram for sale drops and have quick fingers because they sell out. Delivery is available.
