Today's Bible Reading- Psalm Chapters 1-3.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. It's gonna be another hot one today. A high of 93°, 10% chance of rain, and the air quality is solidly in the middle of yellow.
I was outside yesterday and it was so crunchy! So crunchy. The grass just isn't surviving. The weeds are even struggling. The radar is saying we'll have rain tomorrow. I hope so.
Speaking of weeds, which I don't want growing, I found a diy weed killer recipe. I'm thinking about trying it, too. Basic stuff. Vinegar, salt and dish soap. I'd like to spray it on the Bradford pear stump out back. Maybe hit some of the weeds hanging out in the yard. Today's a good day for it.
Honestly, though, I'll be surprised if I can get it done.
So, I thought I'd share a little God thing. I had every intention of making the tortellini yesterday but didn't get to. I spent half the morning looking for a substitute for mushroom stock concentrate. Then I needed to go out and get cat food and a couple of other things. Well, while I was out, it was so hot I decided to pick up some subs and bring them home. Mom and I were hanging out in our rooms, eating lunch, and I get this notification from Hello Fresh. Our meal delivery for May 30 has been rescheduled for June 1 due to Memorial Day. If I would've made the tortellini yesterday, we wouldn't have a meal for a day. I mean, I can always come up with something. I have mac and cheese. I have a gluten free version of Hamburger Helper (not the brand, but same concept). It was just neat that I didn't understand why I didn't have the oomph to make the meal and then this pops up. God knew what was coming and helped me out a little. 
Today's goals. Hmm. Ideally, I'd move wood chips, make the weed killer and spray the weeds, break down the cardboard, move one of aquaponics barrels and fill the hole that it was sitting in. I said 'ideally'. Realistically, I'll probably get the tortellini made, the bank accounts balanced, and maybe the weed killer ingredients bought. I also just realized it's Friday. Wow. Time flies.
I did get Gracie a new fountain yesterday. I had one in particular that I wanted, but there are two versions of it. A decently priced one and a super expensive one. I wanted the former, but accidentally grabbed the latter. The line was so long at the pet store, though, and I knew the cashier would have to get a manager to override the amount, so I just bought it. My main concern was that Gracie wouldn't adjust to it very well. Her current fountain took a few days for her to acclimate to. I brought it home, washed it, set it up, followed all the directions. I had it on the floor for maybe 10 minutes and she went straight to it and started drinking. Thank you, Lord! It's very quiet, too, which is nice, and it has a little light on it so she can see it at night.
Her old fountain was ready to go. I've had it for several years. I noticed the last time I cleaned it that there was black gunk accumulating. I tried to scrub it off but it wouldn't budge. I cleaned it regularly, too.
I guess my goals today are typical Friday things, but with a focus on outside things.
Oh! I started back on protein smoothies yesterday. Since it's so hot, a lot of times I lose my appetite. I made a smoothie yesterday. Frozen peaches, milk and protein powder. It was super delicious and cold! I think I'll make a blueberry one today. It's really nice to have that as a brunch-style meal.
That's all I have for now, folks. I'm actually on time today, so I want to get in the shower and get my day going. Get as much done as I can before the major heat sets in. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
