Today's Bible Reading- Psalm Chapters 35-38.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you had a lovely day yesterday, and are enjoying your day so far today. It's going to be another hot one! Our high today is going to be 88°, 10% chance of rain, and air quality in the green.
Dinner yesterday was absolutely delicious! I had chicken, while Mom and Pop had hamburgers. The burgers were stuffed with cheese, which is something I don't think I've ever done before. I tried a piece, though, and it was really good. The chicken was so tasty, though. Oh my word. Everything was just so good. Those recipes are definitely worth making over again for sure.
Tonight is. . . hmm. I've forgotten. Let me go refill my coffee cup and check the menu. Be right back.
Okay. Beef enchilada bowls! Mm. Sounds good. Something I can also make ahead of time. Woo hoo! I'm going to need that today because of the heat.
The garden is doing well. I have buds on the tomatoes, cucumbers, and I have a couple of flowers forming on the watermelon. The corn is super strong right now. I'm planning on going out there today and giving them a good water.
The other thing I have planned today is getting my laundry done, and I just remembered that I need my niece's birthday box sent out. I didn't make it to the post office Saturday. I had almost everything set up, but we needed one more thing. I went out to get it, and by the time I got home, it was too late to make it to the post office. It's only open for an hour on Saturdays, so I really had to hustle.
The aquaponics set up plan has changed. We're going from tanks and grow beds to a simpler design known as a 'chop and flip' design. Basically, the IBC tote becomes both the fish tank and the grow bed. Pop is currently working on a design for a motor that is self-sustaining. I think that maybe next week we can start putting water in the tanks. The goal is to have the setup ready to use by the end of June. Pop would like to, eventually, have one tank per crop. He wants to turn the entire back yard into an aquaponics farm. That's fine with me. I'd also like to plant at least two apple trees. Maybe I should get a fig tree. I know they're popular in this area. I'd also like to have a greenhouse setup where I'd have dwarf citrus trees inside. I could transplant the lemon trees, and then add some orange, lime and grapefruit to the mix.
That's really all I have for now, folks. The laundry is begging to be done, I need some breakfast, and I need to work on the birthday box and getting supper made early. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
