Me and Makeup: Always Red

The second lippie for this month's #3LippieAMonthChallenge is the shade Always Red from the Sephora Collection. Always Red is a cream lip stain. I got this as a freebie, but I can't remember if I hot it from Sephora or as an item in one if my Sephora Play! Pouches.

Anyway, this is the second cream lip stain I tried from Sephora. The first one was a metallic pink that did not suit me. That time, it was my first time trying a lip stain so I was a bit disappointed at how short lives it was and the very thin coverage. I ended up giving that lippie away. But I was ready this time. I've tried a bunch of lip products so I thought that I can handle a lip stain this time.

Always Red is a striking vivid red shade with orange undertones. It reminds me of ColourPop's Creeper. It has the same intensity and boldness. When I applied it, I was surprised at how opaque it was. I was expecting it to apply thinly and for me to keep adding layers. But one swipe was surprising very opaque. I only had to do a couple of swipes. The formula was also really creamy. It was different from what I remembered.

I still struggled a little with applying it because it's a red lippie and I always struggle with red lippies. I had to make sure the application is precise. But looking at the photo, I now realize that this lippie has the tendency to bleed through lip lines. Although I didn't experience it when I wore it, I will have to watch out for it. Being a lip stain, it didn't last that long. It disappeared really quick with food and water and kinda smudged on coffee mugs and glasses. It did leave a nice red stain on the lips so it looked like you're wearing a lip tint.

I ended up liking this lippie but I don't think it will last a long time. I only have a deluxe sample of it and the size is really, really cute, like around an inch. But who knows? It might last a couple of months.
