Today's Bible Reading- Malachi Chapters 1-4.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 78°, 0% chance of rain, and air quality in the green.
It's been a tough week this week. I haven't said too much about it because it's personal things I'm dealing with. Let's just say, I'm learning about faith and trust. Having faith that God will work things out, and trusting that the outcome is His best.
I'm not a very trusting soul naturally. The older I get, the more skeptical I get. Don't get me wrong. I believe that the Lord is real. I've seen Him work in the lives of people around me, and I've seen Him work in my life.
Where I'm at right now, though, is a hard spot for me. He's put me in a place where I have to face probably my biggest fear. It's scary. I have to learn to believe that no matter what happens, He has my best interest in mind.
Just pray for me, y'all. Some of y'all might laugh at what I consider my biggest fear, but it's not a laughing matter for me. It's tough. I need a lot of prayer to navigate this storm of life.
I made dinner yesterday. Pork chops, mac and cheese and baked beans. Comfort food. Everything turned out delicious. The mac and cheese, though, was spicy! I used the queso recipe I found. It wasn't spicy last time, but this time...wow. Mom really enjoyed the meal, though.
Supper tonight will be chili. I'm thinking that the burgers I bought the other week are what made Mom and me sick last week, so I think I'll toss them today. If I can get to the store today, I need to stock up on my meat again. Maybe I can pre-make some burger patties and pop them in the freezer. I saw one of those burger patty maker things at the store last week. Maybe I can get one. It'd be a useful tool for sure.
I did move some wood chips yesterday. I spent the better part of an hour shoveling them into a five gallon bucket and walking over to the aquaponics setup to dump them. Made another dent in the wood chip pile. It's slowly going down. As it gets cooler, I'll be able to stay out there longer.
Today is trash day and I also need to balance the ledgers. I need to get my grocery list together and figure out the menu. Sunday is always roast, and oh--I wonder if--I noticed last week that the inner ring of the pressure cooker was looking worn. I wonder if Walmart may have a replacement for it at the store. Hmm. Doesn't look like it. I may have to order it and just make the roast in the oven this week. One part of the sealing ring has broken off due to age. Not something you want when you're pressure cooking.
Okay. I also need to go to the auto part store today and get a relay for my car horn. We'll see if that's what I need to fix my horn. I just about creamed someone yesterday, and it was scary. They waited until I was right up on them to pull out in front of me, and then proceeded to freeze in the roadway when they saw me coming at them! I was going 60 miles per hour, and I had to hit my brakes and almost go off the road to avoid them. I think it was a teenager learning to drive. At least, I hope that's the case. Otherwise, they were incredibly dumb. That's a bad place anyways. A blind curve, and two roads come out to the main highway, one of them being at a wonky angle.
Mom just asked for kraut and kielbasa for Sunday dinner, so my pot roast issue is solved. For now.
That's all for now, folks. I need to get myself in gear. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends.
