Meal updates from last week:
We really enjoyed the turkey chili and the pork carnitas. No one missed any of the beans in the chili, and the carnitas were so versatile. The kids ate theirs in taco form and the adults had theirs in bowls. The chicken finger salad and salmon were also very good. This weekend we ate at Earls Friday night, Saturday I made beef burritos from @bestofbridge and tonight I made parmesan herb salmon, roasted potatoes and house salad. For dessert I made a family favourite, apple crisp with vanilla ice cream.
This week we will be eating at home Sunday-Wednesday, Thursday my husband and I are heading away for the weekend. Kids activities continue to keep our weeknights very busy. The weather has also changed and every night we are looking for warm comforting meals.
Last week I made my niece's birthday cake, I used my go-to chocolate cake recipe and then iced it into a koala. It turned out very cute, I tried to make it standing up, but that proved to be way too difficult. I ended up laying and decorating it flat. I have started to think about Christmas baking, I will share my list in a couple of weeks. It is a good idea to start planning and buying different ingredients when you see them on sale. There isn't a grocery list this week as it is so short.
Stay healthy,
Sara
