Hey there, fellow intentional parents!
It's day 2 of the 30 day organization challenge, and today's task is a biggie: clean out your closet and organize your clothes.
Now, I know what you're thinking - "Ugh, do I really have to?" But trust me, this is a good thing. Not only will it help you simplify your life and have less clutter in your home, but it will also teach your kids valuable lessons about organization and taking care of their belongings.
Here are some tips and tricks to make the process a little less daunting:
- Start by taking everything out of your closet and putting it on your bed. This will force you to go through everything and make decisions about what to keep and what to get rid of.
- Sort your clothes into piles: keep, donate/sell, and toss. Be ruthless - if you haven't worn it in a year, it's probably time to say goodbye.
- Once you've gone through everything, it's time to organize. Group like items together (shirts with shirts, pants with pants, etc.) and then decide on a system that works for you. Some people prefer to organize by color, while others prefer to organize by type of clothing.
Being intentional about our clothes and closet is important because it helps us take care of what we have and appreciate what we own. It also helps us make better choices when it comes to buying new clothes - if you know what you have and what you need, you're less likely to impulse buy.
So, let's get to it! And don't forget to enter the $75 Amazon gift card contest, and read more about the 30 day organizing challenge. Happy organizing!
