Aar Macher Jhol (Spicy Long Whiskered Catfish Curry)
Ingredients:
Aar Maach – 4 (Big pieces)
Ginger Paste – 1 tsp
Garlic Paste – 1 ½ tsp
Tomato – 2 (Paste)
Potato – 1 Big (Cut into long wedges)
Coriander Powder – ½ tsp
Cumin Powder – ½ tsp
Garam Masala Powder – ½ tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – ½ tsp
Green Chilli – 2
Bay Leaf – 2
Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
Salt – To taste
Sugar – ½ tsp
Mustard Oil – 4-5 Tbsp
Steps:
Clean the fish pieces. Sprinkle ½ tsp turmeric powder and salt on the fish pieces. Coat them well and leave for 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile grind ginger, garlic and tomato separately.
Heat 4 Tbsp oil in a kadai. Lightly fry the fish pieces. Take out from kadai and keep aside.
