Hi friends, welcome back! August was a big month. I celebrated my 30th birthday with a relaxing day, but the real celebration was our trip to Switzerland. We had such an incredible time and really lucked out with amazing weather. It was hotter than we expected, but we had clear skies every day which is ideal for being in the mountains. I got to paraglide and it was such an incredible experience! I was more afraid of missing a train and being late than to actually paraglide. I thought I'd be a little nervous when it was actually time to go, but when the guide asked if I was ready, I felt so calm and confident saying yes. It was such an awesome way to start this new decade and I'm so happy I was able to do it.

On to my post
I've been linking up with the first blogger I ever read, Shay Shull, for my What's Up posts. Each month I'm answering the following questions:

What I'm eating: I'll be sharing my Foodie Friday for July and August this Friday. We haven't been going out as much lately, but we've still been eating some delicious meals!

What I'm reminiscing about: how beautiful Switzerland is! One of my favorite things was the cows just roaming free. They all wear a bell so you can hear them throughout your hike and it was so peaceful. It was exactly how I imagined Switzerland would be.

What I'm loving: these next few months are my favorite and I love all the anticipation of fall with Christmas not far behind

Favorite post of the month: Where to Eat and Stay in Rome – we are really missing the food in Rome, especially our Giolitti gelato.

What I'm Up to: packing and repacking my suitcase
What I'm working on: I'm almost done with writing all my Rome posts, but I've yet to start my Amalfi Coast posts. Those will be easier to write because there's less history/facts, but it's always so hard for me to narrow down my pictures.
What I'm excited about: September 7th! This date has been on our minds for about two months. It's the official start of NFL football, our apartment will be decorated for fall, and we'll be done with our crazy busy summer. This summer has been a lot of fun, but all the travel (today is our 11th flight since May) is definitely catching up to us and we're excited to relax at home for more than a few weeks at a time.
What I'm watching/reading: We enjoyed The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2, Hard Knocks, Quarterback, and we just started Only Murders in the Building. Virgin River is also coming back September 7th so we're excited for that show.
Books I read this month: I breezed through quite a few books this month! The long flights helped and most of these books are easy beach reads.
- 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand
- A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer
- Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
- Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld
- Class Mom by Laurie Gelman
What I'm doing this weekend: we'll be in Atlanta for Jon's sister's wedding
What I'm looking forward to next month: all the fall things, especially decorating the apartment!
What are you looking forward to next month?
