I've never done macrame before, but it seemed like a fun thing to try. It took some set up time, as I needed to cut the cord and yarn into smaller pieces. Once I had everything cut the project took less than a half hour. I love how the gnome turned out. I'm planning on adding a hanger so I can put it on the tree.
