Today's Bible Reading- 1 Corinthians Chapters 8-11.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 64°, sunny with some clouds, no rain, decent air quality, winds are from the southwest at 4 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 93%.
What a weekend! Let me refill my coffee and I'll tell you about it.
Okay. The weekend. I was praying that we'd have a washout and the parade would be cancelled. I was really anxious about being around all those people. All the cities around us postponed their parades to next week, but not ours. Nope. Rain or shine, they intended on having that parade. It was a long day, but the weather turned out to be absolutely just right for a parade. There were tons of people. A lot of greedy kids hustling the floats for candy. Wow. They were like little vultures! It was a good walk, too. I think I probably walked a couple of miles worth of walking.
I parked my car mid-downtown and then walked to where the float was being put together. Then, the parade route went all the way through downtown, so that was a good mile at least. Then, I had to walk back to my car. My parents came to watch the parade, though, and Mom looked like she was having a fantastic time. I haven't seen her smile like that in a long time. We met up at the gas station for a slushie afterwards. Well, I got a slushie. Mom got coffee and we got Pop an almond amaretto cappuccino. Mom rode back home with me, and I don't know what Pop did but he didn't come home for a few hours.
That was Sunday. Saturday was nothing like I'd planned. I had meant to go to the pet store and to Belk and a few other places. I did get to Belk but only to buy a sweater for the parade. I was getting ready to leave when Mom told me that Pop was outside working on the aquaponics. He was draining the sump tank. That was my cue that he was going to try to move it all into the greenhouse. I put my list aside, figuring that it'd take a couple of hours to get everything done and then I could run my errands. Nope. It was an all-day affair. By the time it was time to get the pizza, we'd moved the sump tank, the fish tank, and the grow beds into the greenhouse. It's a snug fit, but it works. One of my lemon trees is about to bloom, too! I hope we get lemons this time. Also, my blueberry bushes have lots of bumps on them. Not sure if the bumps will turn into buds or if it's just new growth, but they're loaded.
Good news: my peas are bouncing back and the bok choy has bounced back. I did lose my buckwheat, but that's okay. It was an experiment. I have a 5-pound bag of buckwheat seeds. For now, we're cycling the tank and probably around January or February we'll get the fishies back in the tank. Mr. Fishy will be happy about that.
Today, my feet are a bit sore from all the walking. I'm planning on taking it easy. I do need to go to the pet store for Thelma's food. I also need to make an order for Gracie's fountain filters and her litter. Ledgers need balancing, and I have one Christmas gift for Mom that was out of stock, so I'll need to find something else for her. I think I know what to get, but I need to hurry in ordering it.
That's all I have for today, peeps. Supper will be chicken and dumplings tonight. I'm going to use leftover chicken from Bojangles (skin removed) to make it. I bought some more chicken broth concentrate, too, but this one is in paste form. I'll use that to make broth and look to see if I have any veggies I can add to the mix. If not, we have leftover pintos from Bo's. I think. I don't know. I'll have to look. I'll find something.
Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
