Today's Bible Reading- Leviticus Chapters 4-6.
February's Memory Verse- Isaiah 43:1-3.
Good morning, my friends. I hope you're well. Our forecast for today: 67°! Sunny with a few clouds, no rain, winds from the west at 5 miles per hour, and humidity is sitting at 85%.
It's going to be a beautiful, spring-like day today. Gracie is conked out on the bed. Basking in the warmth of the heater, the quilt and one of my sweaters. I feel much calmer today than yesterday. Maybe it was having a decent night's sleep. Could be.
Supper last night was delicious. Jamaican chicken with pineapple rice. Originally, I was supposed to use couscous, but no one in this house cares for couscous. I used jasmine rice instead. I ended up having to add a little water to it, but it turned out delicious. The cilantro really made the flavors pop. The chicken was perfectly spicy but not so much that it was overpowering. I tried to make some oatmeal cookies for dessert, but it was a bit of a fail. Either the oats were too old, or my baking soda is getting old. Something. They didn't sit well on my stomach either.
There's enough chicken and rice for one person for lunch today. I'll be eating that. I don't think Mom was a super fan of last night's supper. I don't have any more fresh cilantro, but I do believe I have some dried.
Supper tonight will be from a restaurant. My best friend sent me a gift card to one, and we're going to use it tonight. It'll be a nice break.
Today's agenda: ledgers, order some things from Chewy, clean Gracie's fountain, fold sheets, and work on Mom's sweater. Also, when Pop gets home today, I'll have to show him the tax stuff and see if anything is missing. That way we can go ahead and get that sent off.
I did get some seeds started yesterday. I planted 4 Spanish onion, 4 Burgundy red onion, 4 Sunberry, 2 Dragon cucumber, and 2 corn (Peaches and Cream variety). I've never even heard of sunberries before, but apparently, they're similar to blueberries? I don't know! Something different. Something new. It'll be interesting to see how they do in our climate.
I have the seeds in a little seed starter tray, and it's sitting in the green house. Which, by the way, is doing lovely. The lemons are loaded with buds and flowers. The muncher cucumber plant is doing okay. I think it needs more sunshine. I move the Roma plant that was near it so it'd get more sun. The squash is going nuts. I have no idea what variety it is. We'll see. I'm seeing several buds forming on the plant, though. Very healthy. The Roma plants are doing okay. I need to keep them watered. I would like to plant something I got at the seed swap. It's an unknown plant, but the general thought was that it may be hibiscus. I'm going to take a couple of my larger containers and plant the seeds in them. See how it turns out.
That's all I have for now, peeps. I need a shower, more coffee, and a start to my day. Love you all and until next time, stay safe my friends. ❤
