Sachungyeol

Sachungyeol (사춘결) is a Korean-Chinese dish, apparently.
Never heard of it until seeing it on the menu at Shanghai this evening. When I asked the owner/manager (wife of the chef), she described it as gyeran mari (see generally 1.147 Gyeran Mari) stuffed with components of yusanseul (see for generally 1.186 Yusanseul). She said that the chef (her husband) will agree to make the dish only when the restaurant is relatively quiet (now), and he's in a good mood (now). But when I asked about the dish's origins, she had no idea - in retrospect, I realize that the question was unfair, like asking a manager at Taco Bell about the history of the chimichanga. Anyway, I couldn't resist to order it.
It was really good. With no internal binder, each piece tended to fall apart unless very carefully handled. The flavors were somewhat bland per se yet nicely enhanced with a touch of soy sauce + chili oil. Delicate and light - best dish that I've had in a neighborhood Korean-Chinese joint in recent memory.
