Dear Parents,
In the quiet moments of life, when the hustle fades and the heart grows heavy, we find ourselves in a place of waiting. It is here, in this sacred space of stillness, that we are invited to encounter the profound truth: "The Lord is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, To those who seek Him [on the authority of God's word]. It is good that one waits quietly For the salvation of the Lord." (Lamentations 3:25-26)
As parents, our lives are often marked by a relentless pursuit of control, a desire to protect and to provide, to fix and to foresee. Yet, in the midst of trials, in the throes of uncertainties, we are called to a different posture—one of relinquishment, of surrender. It is a divine invitation to let go of the reins we so desperately clutch and to place our trust in the hands of a good God.
Waiting is not a punishment; it is a sacred opportunity. It is the ground on which our faith is tested and our hope is refined. In the waiting, we are not abandoned; we are being prepared. Prepared for the revelation of God's goodness, prepared for the fulfillment of His promises, prepared for the salvation of the Lord that unfolds in the most unexpected ways.
Let us not be disheartened by the delay. The waiting is not in vain. It is in these moments of seeming silence that our faith grows roots, that our trust finds its wings. As we seek Him, as we wait upon the Lord with full faith, we are assured that He hears us. Our cries do not go unnoticed. Our tears are not forgotten. For we are waiting on a God who is actively working, turning all things around for our good.
Perhaps today, you find your heart heavy, your hope dwindling. I encourage you, dear parents, to not wait in sorrow in your own strength. Instead, begin to rekindle the flame of hope. Seek Him with full assurance that He is good. In your seeking, you will find. In your waiting, you will see the Lord reveal Himself as good, as faithful, as ever-present.
As we wait upon the Lord, let us remember the words of Isaiah, "But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; they will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired." (Isaiah 40:31)
In the waiting, may you find the strength to rise, the faith to soar, and the assurance that in His perfect timing, the Lord will reveal His salvation, His goodness, His love. For He is good to those who wait for Him, to those who seek Him with their whole heart.
Amen.
