昨日まで２、３日、気温が２５度くらいまで上がって（我が家の気温計を見ると２８度くらいまで上がっていました）暑かったのですが、昨日、インテリアデザイナーさんのお家のお庭に座って９時ごろまでおしゃべりしていたのですが、まだまだ明るかったのですが帰る少し前に急に風が冷たくなりました。そして、今日はぐんと気温が下がって最高気温が２１度くらいと元に戻りました。でも、とても良いお天気だったので、少しお庭仕事をしましたが、日差しが強くて外にいると肌がジリジリ焼ける暑さでした。
Until yesterday, just for a couple of days, the temperature was up to 25C (according to the thermometer we have it was about 28C in our garden in shade), but when we were sitting in the garden of our interior designer until 9:00pm, we noticed all of a sudden the temperature dropped close to 9:00pm and felt quite chilly and the temperature didn't go up high today, it was back to 21C. However, it was very sunny and the sun was very strong, it felt very hot on my skin when I did a little gardening.
今日の夕食は、寒くなる前にと思い、ガスパチョとブルスケッタにしました。ブルスケッタはトマトの他に、余っていたスライスのチョリソも使いました。さっぱりとしてとても美味しい夕食でした。
Today's dinner was Gazpacho & Bruschetta - something we felt we should have before it gets cold again. As well as tomatoes, we also used the slices of chorizo we had left in the fridge. It was nice and light and yummy.
そして、今日はデザートも作りました。ルバーブと生姜のクランブル。ディリア・スミスのレシピですが、クランブルトッピングにオーツを足しました。でも、思っていた通りクランブルトッピングがもそもそして、あまり好みではなかったです。夫はクリームをかけましたが、わたしは写真を撮った後、アイスクリームを足しました。なにかしらしっとりさせるものが必要でした。もっと、ざくざくしたトッピングが好みなので、次回は違うレシピでトライします。
We also made a dessert - Rhubarb & Ginger Crumble. We used Delia Smith's recipe, but added some oats to the topping. However, as I expected, the topping was a bit dry, I like more crunchy toppings for crumble so we'll use a different recipe next time. My husband had cream over it so it was OK and I added ice cream to moisten it after taking the photo.
