My plan today was to bbq hamburgers, the weather changed that. Forecast was for rain this evening but that was just a weatherman's guess. It clouded over about an hour ago with some nasty looking clouds. Right now it is just spitting a little but it looks like it is going to pour any minute.
Since I took the hamburger out of the freezer at 7 this morning I needed a new use for it. Hamburgers aren't my favourite, I would rather have a hotdog, so changing plans isn't a big deal. Hamburger hash is something I have been making for years and enjoy. Don't think I have actually made the same hash a second time.
Hamburger hash is kind of a clean out the fridge and check the freezer dish. There are a few things it does need but after that anything works.
WHAT IT NEEDS
Ground meat, it can be beef, pork, or chicken
chopped onions
chopped celery
a bell pepper any colour
garlic
tomatoes
Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
anything else you want to put in it
Cooking is simple, just make sure you brown and drain the hamburger. Just put everything in a frying pan and simmer it until everything is cooked.
