Hi friends, welcome back! This week is officially the start of summer, although it's felt like summer for a few weeks already in NYC with these heat advisories. I think summer is my third favorite season behind fall and spring now because summer is NYC is tough. The buildings trap the heat which amplifies all the unique smells, and the subway platforms are about 10 degrees hotter and 100% more humid. While I enjoy the longer hours of sun and a good summer thunderstorm when I have nowhere to be, I'm not so secretly dreaming of crisp fall days. Jon and I don't have a crazy, busy summer planned like the last few years, but we're heading to Nantucket next week to scratch our travel itch. I hope you all have a great summer!
Summer Bucket List:
- Have a BBQ with friends
- Read an easy beach read
- Have a picnic in Central Park
- Take a day trip out of the city
- Try a new ice cream shop
- Dine outside
- Have our morning coffee outside
- Eat all the summer fruits
- Avoid getting sunburned
I got a head start on my summer fun:
- Summer reading: The Summer We Started Over & Summers at the Saint
- I made these crowd pleasing s'mores bars I found from Broma Bakery
- Attend an outdoor yoga class
- My friends and I got pizza and went to the roof at Pier 17 for a Mamma Mia movie night. It was the perfect night and so fun! During the credits everyone was up singing and dancing
What are you looking forward to this summer?
