前のポストにも書きましたが、今日はお知り合いに「夕食前のドリンクに」とお誘いをいただいていて、夕方６時ごろに伺いました。お知り合いというのは、この家のリノベーションをした時にお世話になったインテリアデザイナーさん。まだここに越して来たばかりで何がどこにあるかわからない時だったので、インテリアデザイン意外にも色々と教えていただき、そしてすぐにロックダウンになったのでほとんど人と会わない日々の中、インテリアデザイナーさんとは常にコンタクトをとっていてロックダウン解除後は何度もお目にかかっていたのでお仕事のおつきあいだけでなくお友達感覚になっています。リノベーションが全て終わってからはごくたまにしかお目にかかる機会はありませんが、今日久しぶりにお目にかかれて嬉しかったです。今日も本当にお天気が良く暑いくらいだったので、ご主人やお友達も一緒にお庭でシャンパンなどいただきながらキャッチアップが出来て、とても楽しい一時でした。飼っておられるミニチュア・ダックスも可愛くて、たくさん撫でて来ました。ワンちゃんの写真だけでも撮ってくれば良かった。
Like I wrote in my last post, we were invited to someone's for 'drinks before dinner' around 6:00pm this evening. The 'someone' is the interior decorator who helped us with the renovation of this house 4 and a half years ago. As we'd just moved here we didn't know anything around this area so she helped us not only with the renovation but also a lot of other things. As we had the lockdown soon after we moved in, we weren't seeing anyone but we were communicating with her all the time and once the lockdown was loosened we saw her quite often for the renovation so we felt she was our friend rather than just our interior decorator. Once all the renovation was completed, we haven't been seeing her so often so it was lovely to be able to see her today. The weather was beautiful today again so we had Champagne in their garden chatting together with her, her husband and her friends, it was lovely to catch up with her. They have such a cute miniature dachshund, I loved stroking him, I wish I'd taken some photos of the dog!
このところ続いている良いお天気のお陰で、やっと最初のダリアが咲きました。写真は数日前の写真で、写真の中の蕾は今日は開いています。去年は６月末には結構たくさんのダリアが咲いていたので、今年は少し遅れているみたいです。そして、１２株あったダリアですが、今年は１０株しか見つからないので２株冬越し出来なかったみたい。
With lovely weather we've been having in the last one week or so, the first few dahlias are opening in our front garden. These photos were taken a few days ago so the buds in the photos are already out. Last year there were many dahlias out by the end of the month, so I guess it's a bit late this year. We also noticed that out of 12 dahlias that we had planted, we could find only 10 so I guess we lost 2 over the winter.
すごく背が高く大きな花が咲くダリア、結構大きくなっていますが、まだ蕾は見かけません。
These 2 are the very tall ones with huge heads, they are getting quite tall but no buds yet.
