昨日の夕食は、「Robata」というお店に行ってみました。お魚を食べないのでお寿司屋さんにはあまり興味がなく、行きたくなるのは居酒屋さんっぽいお店でシンガポールには結構あって日本人が経営したりお料理しているお店が多かったのですが、ロンドンではなかなか見つからなくて残念です。このお店、中に入ったら日本人らしきお客さんはなく、お店の人も日本人は見当たらず、嫌な予感（笑）。
We tried a Japanese restaurant called "Robata" in Soho last night. As I don't eat fish I'm not interested in Sushi restaurants and what I miss is "Izakaya" type of places. We had quite good Izakaya type of restaurants in Singapore, they were run by Japanese so they were in general good. However, we haven't found any good place in London yet. When we sat at this restaurant we noticed there was no Japanese around, no Japanese customers, no Japanese staff - not a good sighn.
トウモロコシ。わさびのなんたら、とありましたが、詳しくは忘れてしまいました。わさびの味はしなかったので、わさび味のスナック菓子を細かくしてまぶしてあったのかな。熱々でなく生ぬるい感じ。まぁ、まぁ。
Sweetcorn with wasabi something or other (I cannot remember what exactly it was), it didn't taste much of wasabi so I guess it had coating of crushed wasabi flavour snack. It wasn't hot, sort of luke warm. So-so.
ポーク餃子。これも生ぬるくて、まぁまぁ。
Pork gyoza. Again, they were luke warm. So-so again.
唐揚げ、コチュジャン・マヨ添え。イギリスではコチュジャンが流行っている模様。これは、普通に美味しかったです。量が少なかったので、もう1つオーダーすれば良かった。
Karaage (Japanese style fried chicken) with Kochujan mayo. It looks like Kochujan is very popular in England at the moement. These were actually good but not many pieces, we should have ordered another one.
枝豆は2種類あって、ソルティーかスパイシーだったのでスパイシーをオーダーしたらソルティーが来た。変えてもらいましたが、そちらは写真を撮り忘れました。甘辛いタレのが入っていて、上から一味がかかっていました。これまた、まぁまぁ。
There were 2 kinds of Edamame, one salty and one spicy so we ordered spicy - salty came. They changed it for us but I forgot to take a photo. There was some sweet and salty sauce on the bottom and a good sprinkles of red chilli pepper on to. Again, so-so.
キムチライス。うわっと思いましたが、見た目よりは美味しかったです。味は悪くなかったのですが味が濃すぎて、ソースは避けながら食べた方が良いです。そして、キムチが思いっきり辛かった。まぁまぁより、ちょっと良い。
Kimchee Rice. It was better than we thought from the look, it tasted good enough but just too much sauce so you need to try to avoid the sauce as much as you can. The kimchee was also extremely spicy. A little better than so-so.
最後に、バウをオーダーしたのですが（中身はビーフリブ）、食べようと思って触ったら、バウが冷たすぎ。レンジで温めるだけで良いので温めて欲しいとお願いしましたが、結構時間が経って戻ってきたのもまだ冷たい。どういうことなのか、理解出来ず。まだ冷たいけど、というと、僕はキッチンにいないから、もう一度温めますが、それとももういらないですか、と聞かれる。やれ、やれ。あまり美味しくなさそうだし、もういいです、とキャンセルしました。
We also ordered baos (with beef rib filling). When we touched them the baos were actually cold! We asked them to warm them up with microwave and when they came back after a little while they were still cold! Why? The staff said, "I don't know, I'm not in the kitchen. Do you want me to ask to warm them up again or you want to cancle it? We decided to cancel it as they probably aren't that good.
お会計は思っていたよりも安くて£58,50（12000円）。まぁ、酷くはなかったですが、あまり美味しくもない、また行くことはないです。
The bill was less than we expected - £58.50. It could have been worse but not great, we won't be going back for sure.
お口直しがしたかったので、お向かいにあったフランスのケーキ屋さんに入ってケーキとお茶にしようと思って入ったら誰もいなくて、しばらく呼んだらやっと中から店員さんが出てきたので椅子に座って注文をしようとしたら、店員さんが満面の笑みを浮かべながら「iPadが壊れたので、何もだせません。」とのこと。いやいや、だったらお店のドアを閉めて張り紙でもすれば？オープンしてたら、食べられると思うでしょ？なんだか、なぁ。
We felt we needed something else so we went in the French cake shop/cafe across the street but we couldn't find any staff. We kept calling for someone, and eventually someone came out. We sat at a table and started to order, then the staff, with a full of smile, said to us, "The ipad broke so I cannot serve you." What?? In that case, why don't you close the door and put a notice saying you are closed? No answer.
仕方なく、元のレストランの隣にあったイギリスのケーキ屋さん（カフェ）に入り、夫はカプチーノとチェリーとチョコレートのケーキ、わたしはアールグレーとレモンメレンゲタルトをオーダー。レモンメレンゲ、甘かった。。。
