ラベンダーファームに行く前に、近くにあったパブ「The Bo-Peep」でランチをしました。
わたしは、ソーセージと炒めた玉ねぎのバゲットサンド。ソーセージと玉ねぎは普通に美味しかったのですが、バゲットが美味しくなさすぎてとても残念。イギリスの普通のスーパーで売っているバゲット、わたしはとっても苦手。良くトースターで温めて少しカリッとしていればまだましなのですが、こればふにゃっとしていて中がねとっとした食感で、せっかくソーセージは普通に美味しいのにサンドイッチとしては美味しくなかったです。
I had Baguette sandwich with sausages and sautéed onion, Sausages and onion was fine but the baguette is so bad. I really don't like baguette that you can buy in supermarkets in England, they aren't baguette at all. If it's warmed up and made a little crispy it's not as bad but when it's cold and the texture inside is sort of sticky, I find it very unpleasant. What a waste of sausages and onion!
夫はソーセージ＆マッシュ＆巨大ヨーキー。写真では分かりませんが、かなり大きなヨークシャープディングでした。ヨークシャープディングは多分冷凍のもの。でも、バゲットよりはましだったので、こちらの方がましだったと思います。
My husband had Sansages & Mash with huge yorkie. It's not obvious but the Yorkshire pudding was veyr large as the menu said. I think Yorkshire pudding was frozen one defrosted, but better than the baguette.
